The 15th annual Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K/10K is
APRIL 6, 2024!
For over 30 years, Baldwin Park was home to Naval Training Center Orlando, and in celebration, the Central Florida Navy League holds our annual race at the former “Grinder.” Join us for a run around the "Grinder" to honor Orlando's rich military heritage and support our sea service members and their families, as well as our chosen charities.
The race starts and finishes at Blue Jacket Park located at 2501 General Rees Ave, Orlando, Florida 32814.
This event's primary goal is to raise money for charities that support service members and the Central Florida military communities. Over the years we have raised more than $400,000 for amazing groups and this we’re proud to support two amazing groups: Wake for Warriors and Project Recover.
This year's WWLS event includes:
- Premium race shirts for ALL PREREGISTERED 5K/10K participants. While we want each participate to receive a shirt, we cannot guarantee a shirt for any runner who registers beyond the shirt deadline. SHIRT CUT OFF DATE IS MIDNIGHT March 18th.
- Newly designed, limited-edition race medal for ALL participants, including virtual participants!
- Discounts for Veterans, active duty Military as well as groups of 10 or more.
- Got a kid that loves to run? Have them join the KIDS RACE for ages 4-6, 50 yards and 7-9, 100 yards at around 9 am. Youth race does not include shirts. Registration is not required for the kids race.
We encourage all runners to pre register online prior to race day. We can only except cash or check on race day and all race day registrations at the event table will cost an additional $5 compared to pre registration pricing on the website.
ALSO, this year we're collecting used or new sneakers for SNEAKERS4GOOD!
Please bring your sneakers to packet pick up or race day and be a part of this fun campaign! We're collecting for two reasons, one, to keep them out of landfills, and two, for micro enterprises in developing nations for them to sell and create money for their little businesses. It's smart, simple and sustainable!

The Beneficiaries
The Navy League of the United States Central Florida Council is unique among military-oriented associations. It is a civilian organization dedicated to the education of our children and adult citizens, including our elected officials. The Navy League also supports Central Florida men and women of the sea services and their families.
Wake for Warriors connects military veterans and their families through our passion for watersports. While sharing a common goal and love for the wave that we call life, we celebrate ourselves and each other on and off the water! We connect. We Share. We Celebrate!
Project Recover is a collaborative effort to enlist 21st century science and technology in a quest to find and repatriate Americans missing in action since World War II, in order to provide recognition and closure for families and the Nation.
